Description:
Volunteers are needed to visit with the residents of St. Luke’s, an assisted living community for elderly patrons in Algiers, LA. Volunteers will participate in a variety of activities and services to keep residents entertained and engaged. These include arts and crafts, bingo, birthday parties, tag sales, exercise classes, music therapy and fun seasonal activities such as Mardi Gras and Easter parades. Residents are also taken on periodic recreational trips throughout the city. Volunteers may also be asked to help beautify the grounds so the residents can enjoy time outdoors.
Jobs will include building planter benches, building picnic benches,
maintaining container gardens, fencing in a patio area, and providing
landscaping work Come spend time with residents who would otherwise have little interaction with non-residents and become a part of the St. Luke's community!
