Revitalize the Lower 9th Ward

Agency: Backyard Gardener's Network

Description:

Join the Backyard Gardener's Network in it's efforts to revitalize the Lower 9th Ward. Volunteers are needed to work with lot clearing and gardening projects.

Lot clearing includes making sure yard debris is properly disposed of, certain vegetation is adequately razed and new plants are properly planted.

Gardening projects will include tasks that range from lot maintenance (cutting grass, weeds) to garden build-out. This build-out could include repairing the perimeter fence, constructing garden boxes, laying paths and building a shade structure.

All projects will work towards the recovery of this historic neighborhood!
