Survey the Lower 9th Ward

Agency: Historic Lower 9th Ward Council for Arts and Sustainability

Description:

Committed volunteers are needed to survey the Lower 9th Ward neighborhood and provide information on each lot within it.

By following carefully planned out routes and maps, teams will engage with community members and review empty lots to collect accurate information about each block. This information would be used by the 9th Ward Council for Arts to make more accurate and compelling appeals for assistance on behalf of the community. Volunteers will be expected to spend a short amount of time after each project session entering the information they’ve collected into a database.

The Historic Lower 9th Ward Council for Arts and Sustainability supports, encourages and promotes community collaboration and revitalization through educational programs for young people, the arts, health awareness, political empowerment, youth advocacy, information dissemination and exhibition of Lower 9th Ward history and culture.
