Work at a Community Garden

Agency: Mid-City Community Garden

Description:

Join the Mid-Community Garden and its members in their efforts to provide fresh produce to the community.

Volunteers are needed to take on various gardening tasks such as planting, watering, harvesting, garden build-out and more. Come help the neighborhood grow!

Mid-City Community Garden is a non-profit organization providing a resource for food and recreation in the heart of New Orleans’ flood-damaged urban center. Through innovative membership programs and partnerships with other neighborhood-based non-profit organizations, Mid-City Community Garden distributes fresh, healthy produce to a wide variety of households and grassroots markets; teaches at-risk youth how to raise food sustainably in the heart of the city; brings neighbors of all backgrounds and economic levels together for positive activity; and serves the community by delivering produce to the elderly and infirm in the immediate area.
