Description:

Volunteers are needed to assist with painting, landscaping, and green space projects with the Beacon of Hope.

The Beacon of Hope was founded by Denise Thornton, who spent 5 harrowing days in the Superdome along with 30,000 other evacuees. As her husband Doug focused his efforts on the rebuilding of the Superdome, Denise formed a grass roots volunteer organization based on the principal of neighbor helping neighbor. Together with your help, we are striving to rebuild this great historical city house by house, block by block. The Beacon of Hope, which started in one small enclave, now has 21 locations throughout the city.
