Local Community Projects

Do you have a variety of service interests, and need one place see a menu of options. This is your all in one place to sign up for a variety of ongoing projects happening around the city. Here you can read project descriptions, see the number of volunteers that have signed up for the project, and receive project details. As the date of the project approaches, we’ll also send you a reminder email with the project details and contact information. Find local agencies needing your support, and sign up for a project that fits your time, interests and schedule.

Lead A Project

Are you ready to take your volunteerism to the next level? Hands On New Orleans wants to support as many agency partners as possible with not only volunteers but with volunteers to lead projects. That’s where you come in, by being the face of Hands On New Orleans in the community. There are many agencies and schools that do not have all the staff necessary to manage volunteers and need your help. Volunteer leaders provide needed capacity and manage projects at local community agencies. As a volunteer leader you communicate project details to volunteers that sign up, you orient the volunteers on the day of service, and lead them in the project tasks. Leading a project is a great way to “own” a project and help others experience the benefits of volunteering.

Special Events

Want to be a part of something big? Almost every month there are opportunities for volunteers to take part in special events, and special projects. Participating in a special event project is a great way to directly connect your service to specific issues and interests that appeal to you. Many of these projects also connect to events and activities happening around the country.

Corporate Volunteers

Have a group of volunteers at your corporation, or organization that want to work in the community? There are great opportunities through our Hands At Work program to engage your co-workers in meaningful, team-building projects that benefit the community and Hands New Orleans.
