HandsOn New Orleans has found people are willing to lend a hand but often do not have the necessary resources to do so. Your support actually enables community impact by directly placing tools and materials in the hands of willing volunteers under the management and organization of HandsOn New Orleans.
Your sponsorship goes beyond name recognition; it provides real, tangible community change!
Year Round Opportunities for Involvement - Annual Service Days
HandsOn participates in an array of annual service days that bring communities together and make meaningful change; including:
-Martin Luther King Week of Service (January 12-19, 2009)
The King Week of Service brings together people who might not ordinarily meet, breaks down social barriers, and leads to a better understanding of social action.
In 2007, over 2,100 citizens joined together for a week of celebration
and service. Twenty-one community partners joined together for projects; including 4 school renovations, a film screening, live performances, workshops, and dialogues. Again this year, thousands will join together for service and a celebration of King's life.
