Principal for a Day (PFAD), a business-and-school community partnership event, is the signature platform for the SCHOOL-CONNECT program to introduce and build school connections. This year through Principal for a Day, SCHOOL-CONNECT will unite 60 business leaders from all walks of life to experience firsthand the accomplishments of and challenges facing our city’s public schools.

Who participates in Principal for a Day?

Principals for a Day are members of the New Orleans’ community who have an interest in the local school system. In order to connect the business community and the school community, the participants are usually business leaders or recognized members of the community.

In 2008, twenty of New Orleans' business and community leaders participated in Principal for a Day. Download a list of the Principal for a Day Class of 2008.

On November 14, 2008 HandsOn New Orleans, Merrill Lynch, and the Recovery School District sponsored the first annual New Orleans Principal for a Day. Twenty business and community leaders entered seventeen schools and forged lasting partnerships that will ensure our youth have the resources they need to succeed.
